Customization / Wallpaper / 3 Dimensional

3Ds Max 2010 w/ Mental Ray 3.7

I had the sudden urge to make a new wallpaper. Murano style teardrop sculptures. Available in 1920x1200 as well, simply download the zip file.

Technical Detail:

Modeling took about 20 minutes. Setting up the render took a little over an hour. I didn't deviate from my usual glass renders, the backdrop is the usual trusty DGS shader and the sculptures are all L_glass shaders. To be honest the arch_mat probably would be better but I don't have the time to mess with it, so I stuck with the L_glass. The lighting is done solely through Final Gather using 2 bright cubes. Finally the render job was pulled off using distributed bucket rendering with my laptop. This sped up the process quite a bit.

Finally, if this render is popular enough I will make a tutorial. Because so many people have already asked me, so here is your chance.
